Military Officer to Catholic Writer and Blogger

I spent most of my life being selfish and running away from the truth. After giving my life to Jesus Christ at a Methodist Christian Camp in Groton, Massachusetts, I was lukewarm at best. Soon, my parents got divorced and my mother remarried. I was not ready to accept it, so I went deeper and deeper into darkness. Three days after High School Graduation, I was at Paris Island for USMC bootcamp. This was back in 1989.

After Iraq invaded Kuwait, I found myself in combat. Without going into detail, I know I should have died at least once, except for something that can only be explained by divine intervention. I found out why that part of the world is holy by so many. It is hard to put into words, but if you experience it, you will understand. I came closer to God than I ever was, but it was short lived. As soon as I came back to the world. I put God back onto the shelf, for many years.

After graduating from college and marrying my beloved wife, I joined the US Army after 911 as an infantry officer. After living a very sinful life, I started feeling my spiritual needs coming to the surface. My family started going to a Methodist church in El Paso, Texas in 2009.

After a few years, we discovered that our spiritual needs and the truth of Jesus Christ and the Gospel were not being met. In 2012 we became Catholic through the RICA program. At first, we were still lukewarm. In 2018 (the year I retired), we became more and more deep into our faith. In 2021, we really began to live our faith. As we learn more from the Bible, Catechism, Homilies, books, and other media focusing on the traditional Catholic teachings and rites, our family has become more and more Catholic than ever before.

Now, as a retired military officer who spends his time trying to live his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as passed down from Jesus and the Apostles. We currently live in Florida, and I am trying to pass on the word of God through writing commentary, fiction, etc. My goal is to save souls.
